LabVIEW for Windows is the perfect solution for your data acquisition applications -- a LabVIEW data logger customized to your requirements can often be specified and delivered in a single day.
Windows can also be the user interface for a LabVIEW Real-Time or FPGA based control application.
LabVIEW Real-Time
For mission critical control applications we can deploy your application in the LabVIEW Real-Time environment. LightWave Computing has successfully completed several wind power storage control systems based on the National Instruments Compact RIO platform.
LabVIEW FPGA
Sometimes an application requires timing too tight for a real time system to handle. In the past this has forced designers to use custom hardware based solutions. National Instruments FPGA products allow users to have nanosecond timed control without the time and effort of building custom hardware.
Our expertise in LabVIEW Real-Time / FPGA was used to develop the software for a Pulsed Electron Beam - Physical Vapor Deposition (PEB-PVD) system on the National Instruments PXI platform. The system is used to plate parts with a combination of vapourized metals. Lasers are fired on a rotating carousel in a vacuum chamber at selected zones to create a composite metalized cloud. The labVIEW FPGA logic on the system runs in a 40Mhz LabVIEW whileloop enabling variable laser pulse timing in 25nSec increments.
LabVIEW Machine Vision
Lightwave Computing has developed National Instruments based vision solutions using the NI Compact Vision system, PXI based real-time systems as well as standard PC Solutions. We have experience with various camera technologies from analog RS-170 and NTSC area-scan cameras through to Firewire,USB Cameralink and Ethernet based line scan camera systems.
LightWave Computing also helped the Canadian Navy to develop a PC network that aided in correlating video records of Navy vessels with on-line data acquisition equipment that was recording the ship's susceptibility to undersea mines.
We have also helped one client develop a veneer moisture measurement system that tracks and analyzes veneer panels on conveyors running at over 1000 fpm.
